Charles Lindeman, LPCC
Charles, better known as "Chuck", started his health care professional journey as a floor staff at a residential group home for adolescent females. He was quickly given the position of floor supervisor due to having experience in working with children during internships while in school. After two years at this position, Chuck was approached by another agency to help start a new program and train staff. He accepted this position and was able to build a residential program for adolescent males from the ground up. This was more of a managerial role, and Chuck wanted to get back to a more clinical role. He then accepted a position with an agency and became a therapist for a residential group more for adolescent males, which he held for about a year when he was offered the opportunity to become the Clinical Director. After being in this position for a year and a half Chuck was promoted to Program Director of all the programs on the campus. After holding this position for about three years, I moved on to Private Practice.
Chuck holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Walden University, where he also completed his dissertation on Adolescent Substance Abuse, and currently licensed in the state of Kentucky as an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor). Chuck is also a Certified Sexual Offender Counselor and have extensive training in substance abuse therapy. He works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families on a variety of issues which have included anxiety issues, depression, relationship conflicts, anger management, ADHD, drugs and alcohol, issues related to the legal system and mood disorders. Chuck uses several types of therapy to deal with different issues but generally tends to subscribe to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy (RT) and Brief Solution Focus Therapy (BSFT). These therapies deal with the here and now while challenging clients to think more in depth about what they need help with and how to help themselves.
During the week, Chuck's day job consists of being a behavioral interventionist at an alternative school program for grades 1 thru 12, responding to crises that occur in the classrooms in order to return the client and classroom back to a safe learning environment. When not at work or seeing clients, Chuck spends all of his time with his lovely wife, whom he has been married to for 8 years, and his two wonderful children, both boys and currently ages 5 & 7. My seven year old plays football where I am an assistant coach and when we are not at football practice or games, we are outside playing, at the park or watching Batman or the Super Hero Squad.
